Lost Friendship

I sit and think, as time passes by

What a great time we had past year

A true friendship, long conversations

Life, events, we had it all figured out

Laughter, caring, outings were frequent

Now I wonder where all that love went

Along the way, something went wrong

Friendship ended, hearts were broken

Deep down, I think you all wanted a break

Watching two best friends; drifting apart

It felt cold, distant, lost and hurt

I wish we can go back to the happier days

We used adore; look out for one another

Without stepping in to each others toes

It’s not important why we became friends

It’s the bond, trust and love that counts

Friends, always be there for one another.

I don’t know if this true or not any more

Million little things that I want to share

I don’t think it holds a value any longer

It’s true; we make new friends all our life

But only few becomes so close to heart

As I cling to the memories that are left

Life goes on; nothing remain the same

We go our separate ways; looking for new

Goals to pursue, new dreams to conquer

I look a round with a sigh; for ‘A Friend’

Room full of people; endless chatters

I see many faces, icy stares & empty smiles

I searched for that spark, warmth & affection

I paused for a moment and realized…

They are not you!! They can never be you!!

To my sister;The Buddhist Monk

Feeling of hopelessness and sadness  ran through my veins
Guilt and regret hit me like a thunder storm in a rainy night
I was just powerless to change the decision you have made
Million little pieces of memories flashed in front of my eyes
Countless sacrifices mother had done for you; all those years
To be the career women; she had dreamed  & envision for you

All those dreams came down like a house of cards
I could only close my eyes and searched for answers
Where did we go wrong; for you to leave in despair?
Giving up the things you loved and wanted so much
To become a Buddhist monk, isolated in to wilderness

Wearing a pale yellow robe, you meditate in dead silence
No attraction or repulsion from the world out side to disturb
I hope you'll find the inner peace that you desperately seek
Sheer courage and wisdom to follow the path of enlightment

It’s true; we have chosen very different paths of fulfillment
We may never be the same sisters who hold hands and giggles
But you will always be the one; once I dearly loved and missed
Goodbye my little sister, I am setting you free for the noble cause
May you be the one to heal & guide the many more helpless people
Needy souls to the light at the end of the long and painful tunnel.

Simply Life

When the April spring showers‘re gone

Mist fades away with the morning sun

I see the dew drops on the grass tips

Rays of sunlight beaming from the window

It’s these simple moments that we enjoy

Bring the beauty and serenity to our lives

When everything is meant to be broken

We look for our good friends to stand by

Pray for the miracles to appear in the sky

Some get heart broken, some get lucky

Everyone is left with a story to pass along

Time is our canvas; it’s entirely up to you

How you paint your life’s masterpiece

All that matters is not the end, memories

That you captured in a flash of moment

Your strife’s, struggles, triumphs and joy

When I gaze at the dark cloudless sky

I see one silver star under the moonlight

There’s enough hope, love for every one

But we choose to sit in our dark corner

Wait for the world to solve our problems

All along, Power is within us to find solutions

when you discover the peace within you

you’ll realize what a rare and wonderful

place this world to be born and witness life

God’s greatest gift to us is this one chance

live the life to the fullest with no regrets.

My childhood

My childhood was full of innocence

Time in My world seemed endless

All I cared was to run around circles

Singing & Dancing with my buddies

Sat on the tree house & eating popsicles

Watched the parrots flew over the fields

Everything was bigger and so colorful

Every one was nicer and my best friends

School days were filled with fun & mischief

I did not care for home work or class work

I was always fooling around in the hood

Lots of happy holidays in granny’s house

Laughter, love was never short in her care

Smile was just enough to get things done

It was a hero bike I got for my 10th b’day

I paraded that in town as if I won the lottery

World seemed to be a fair and wonderful place

Love was pure and tenderness prevailed

No obligations or expectations to lived up to

All the good times I shared with my family

I know, my childhood was long gone

But child in me never ever left home

Lost Purpose

We live in this most advanced ,complex world

Tall glass buildings, grand fly overs & fancy cars

Yet, we fail to notice the hungry homeless

Begging for our attention to get by each day

IPods, iPads, iphones in every street corner

We are busy browsing our smart gadgets

Live tweets, facebook updates to the world

Yet, we don’t stop and say hello to our neighbor

We Spend hours surfing and chatting online

Catching up with long lost high school friends

Yet, we don’t ask our spouse how her/his day is

Watching reality shows, singing competitions

And dancing stars are our new pass times

Yet, we don’t see the wars in our own back yards

To take care the jobless, helpless & the addicted

We champion the freedom to speak, demonstrate

As a human right, yet we accept the dictators

Around the world as it is their norm, culture

We live in a society every wants to be famous

Yet, no one wants to work hard to achieve it

We live in a place where we make dishwashing liquid

Using environmentally friendly, organic real lemons

Yet, lemonade for kids with artificial flavors & sugars

We shed millions on supplements and diet programs

Yet, fail to include fresh fruits and veggies to our diet

Isn’t that long a go we cut own grass, walked the dogs

Grew our vegetable garden, milked our own cows

Attended church every Sunday and prayed for world peace?

We live in a such a world that we embrace new technology

To divide us over land, race, skin color, politics and religions

We have forgotten the ultimate truth of existence

All things must die, regardless of their purpose

Life is a chance..

Life is a chance, take it now or never

Life is a challenge, face it with courage

Life is gift, unwrap it and enjoy what is inside

Life is a tragedy; give it time , sorrows will heal

Life is pain, one must suffer to undersatnd it

Life is lonely, have faith, you will find your soul mate

Life is full of frustration, let it go, answers will come

Life is a mystery, pay attention, you will miss out

Life is love, feel it and spread it around

Life is a puzzle, can snap you wide awake

Life is struggle, hope is there to life your spirit

Life is full of unexpected; it can grab you any time

Life is depressing, can wake you from your sleep

Life is tears, need to cry out loud to let go of the pain

Life is trust, easy to loose harder to earn

Life is just a tease, don’t take it too seriously.

Life is awesome, see it, feel it embrace it

Life is precious; don’t let anyone take it from you

Life is beautiful, cheer up; it’s yours to play with

Life is fun, feel the music, dance to the beat

Life is whatever you think of it. And everything you think of it

Life is what you make of it and what you say of it.

Life is all about you and how you treat it

You like it, you hate it. Well, it’s all up to you

Life is you so be careful how you describe it

To My Brown Eyed Friend

Beautiful brown eyes with a funky hair

Pretty smile & squeaky voice is there

It’s so hard to ignore your cute stare

You're very rare friend to spare.....

Always have a nutrition find to share

Gluten free & no MSG food you prepare

You’re Sweet, sensitive, caring & funny

It’s your gentle, loving and kind ways

Gives me the utter joy to be freinds..

It’s your laid back style & optimism

Reminds me of the good times are ahead

I may be too young to offer you comfort

But I will tell you this my sweet friend

When ever you’re sad or feeling blue

I swear to God, I'll be here for you.

To hold your hand and give you hugs

I hope these stormy days will go away

Many more happy times are on the way

I just wrote this poem to lift your day

Now, may I have my smoothie coconut free?

Away from me

I close my eyes

To find in a dream

To be with you

For a while

Beautiful memories

About our past,

Just like the blue sky

Will be there always

In my mind..

For as long as I live

My love for you

I always feel

In my heart

Will never say

You are away from me .

I wish I can be like the ocean..

I wish I can be like the ocean

Constant waves go up & down

Whistling sounds pleasant to hear

It sings ,screams, cries and growls

All at once.. yet, no one complains..

It gives birth, nourishes and carries life

Far away places I can only imagine..

Takes all in.. good, bad and the ugly

no judgments passed or questions asked

Fearless, adventurous & carefree

Ocean.. ..please take me with you

I want to float to a land of hope

Where There’s no hate, hurt or in-justice

My dearest mother

You’ve given me life
You’ve shown me kindness
You’ve taught me compassion
You’ve proven me resilience
Above all you taught me love

Because of you
I am who I am today
It’s your sacrifices
Made me strong
It’s your courage
Made me think
It’s your dream
I live today

I hope it’s worth it
Things you did not do
Places you did not go
People you did not spend time
I know its all for me

We fight, we yell
We forgive, we make up
I hope you know
How grateful I am
To have you in my life
I hope you know
I love you forever and always

Class Room Memories

I was the happy clown who made every one laugh

I was the tomboy who did not care for the boys

I was the brave who stood up to mean girls

I was the fool who got punished for helping the weak

I was the curious who asked the weird questions

I was the poet who got picked on for being creative

I was the observer who always sat in the last raw

Time has flown by I am still the same cheerful clown

Putting a smile to the people who struggle through life

Spring Love!!!

Humming bird sings in the dawn
Cool breeze caressing my ears
Dandling daffodils...Peeping tulips
I smell the roses... hear the bees…
At last!! Spring is here to stay..
I wonder... do you care to notice?

Melting snow ...run off rivers
I feel the warmth ...glorious sun
Sweet cherries ..melt in my mouth
Dashing blue sky ..stare at the face
I wonder... do you care to notice?

Dancing squirrels ..in the woods
Pretty butterflies...Shining colors
Happy lovers... holding hands
Cheerful kids...giggling loud
Glimpse of hope... blossoming in
I see now... true magic of spring
I wonder... do you care to notice?

Green grass ...bursting trees
Bringing new life, yearning love
Rain drops ..tears upon my face
Past is gone ..just like the dark winter
I let you go… to sulk, frown and ponder
I wonder... do you care to notice?

I cry ...happy tears. ....Thank you spring
I am free...no debts .. no deeds
Once again... my heart is full of desires
Dare to dream ...ready to conquer
I found the one...Worthy of my soul
I wonder... do you even care at all?

Taking a Risk . . .

There are no guarantees
Life throws things at you
You can catch or miss them
But they will come, ready or not

I always looked for the real thing
Never trusting in the possibility
Risk-taking not my forte
Staying safe at all costs

Even playing it safe is not certain
Safe has hurt me
Zero risk gets zero gain
Sometimes playing it safe costs you more

It has me,
In not fighting the battle
you may lose the war
In not believing in a dream
You may never sleep peacefully again

So let go of the fear
Reach out for the flame
So what if you get burned
Better that then numb for life

Better to remember passion and joy
Along with the pain and tears
Then to have no memories worth
Remembering

So to hell with safe
I am going to gamble and bet
Until I win back everything I lost
And my life is what it was meant to be . . .

Gloomy Winter

Gloomy winter, wrapped up in the cold
Chilling winds ..run through my ears
God… When is this winter getting over?
I am tired of seeing same snowy roads
Need the summer to be here soon...
Spring, autumn have come and gone away
I am still here… far away from home....
I wondered what it would have been....
If I have never made it to this country
Never had to leave my childhood home...
Good old days… tucked in my cozy bed..
Always dreamed.. what would be like..
to grown up to a whole new world.....
Freedom to be who ever I want to be...
Meet new people, make friends and have a life
To be claimed my own, envy of my friends..
Having all my dreams come true..
I still wondered the life.. I left behind....
I have forgotten the taste of mother's cooking..
All the great conversations we had.....
And what was it like to be waken up to the birds
I was in the swing.. with my eyes closed tight,
Smell of the ripped mangoes eaten by squirrels....
Reaching for the blue sky in my little kingdom
Oh God.. I wish I can turn the clock back....
All I have now is the memories of little pieces
Haunting me to dig in more... to bring the past...
I wanted to have it all... Captured in my heart
What if I run out of space? Then I smiled...
Realizing we only get to live young once.....
It became part of my life ...that I am today....
If you don't move on..............
You’ll have nothing to look back on...

Today......

Today before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can't speak
Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat
Before you complain about your husband or wifeT
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion
Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven
Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren
Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets
Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feetAnd when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around Life is a gift
Live it.Enjoy it..Celebrate it..And fulfill it..HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY . . .

Bloom in a drought....

How do I explain
this bloom upon the rose,
that clings against all odds
this endless drought bestows?

Just holding on with hope
that rains will fall again,
before she hits the dust
where her tender life will end

But rain has left this bloom
to struggle on her own,
with only hopes and prayers
she clings to life alone.

She holds on with a dream
the day sweet drops will fall,
to ease her aching thirst
her petals cry out for.

So fragile with her pain
so lonely with her need,
that just one tender touch
would cause her heart to bleed.

The rains she knows so well
seem nowhere in her sight,
but still she finds the strength
to not give up the fight.

Alone she blooms her smile
to hide away her fears,
she'll flower while she can
no moisture left for tears . . .

Comfort Zone

I use to have a Comfort Zone
Where I knew I couldn't fail
The same four walls of busy work
Were really more like jail.

I longed so much to do the things
I'd never done before,
But I stayed inside my Comfort Zone
And paced the same old floor

I said it didn't matter,
That I wasn't doing much
I said I didn't care for things
Like diamonds, furs and such

I claimed to be so busy
With the things inside my zone,
But deep inside I longed for
Something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by,
Just watching others win.
I held my breath and stepped outside
And let the change begin.

I took a step and with new strength
I'd never felt before,
I kissed my Comfort Zone "goodbye"
And closed and locked the door.

If you are in a Comfort Zone,
Afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were
At one time filled with doubt.

A step or two and words of praise,
Can make your dreams come true.
Greet your future with a smile,
Success is there for you!

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly? When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Life Goes On . . .

In every human life,
there are some moments when one is sad and depressed
Frustrated from every zone of life,
And feel like leaving everything & going away
And Life Goes on..

Some moments in which
one is wrapped with tensions
one wants to get out of them
and fly high in the sky
But cant run away, and life goes on..

Some moments in which,
one who adores hurts sentiments,
one needs a support, a shoulder to dry on,
But doesnt find one, and life goes on..

Some moments in which one gets tired of life
or so intensely hurt that one wants to die
one wishes to end up with
life at that very moment, and life goes on..

And in every human life on day arrives
When there is a big halt to one's life.
And then the people cry
and show that they were concerned

Then the question arises
Do they wait for one's death..,
To care, To understand the one
If so, then wait till death and until then

Life Goes On . . .
